Invitation letter

Purpose of the Invitation Letter

You need an invitation letter when applying for a visa to countries such as AustraliaSaudi Arabia, India and China. An invitation letter is used to document and confirm that you are visiting a:

  • person
  • business relation
  • company.

The letter must be written and designed by the inviting party. To prove the authenticity of the invitation, it must be signed. Please note that when it comes to a business invitation, the company's stamp or logo should ideally appear on the letter.

Content of the Invitation Letter

The content of the invitation should describe the purpose of the trip, as well as provide an overview of the activities planned during the trip. In addition, your personal information (full name, social security number and passport number) should appear in the letter.

If it is a business connection that you often visit, we recommend arguing for a visa with a longer validity. Such a visa will be issued with a minimum of two entries.

Requirements for the invitation

The invitation, which must be attached to your visa application, must meet the following requirements to be approved. It must:

  • Be typed, and if possible, printed on company letterhead with the company logo.
  • Include your full name, CPR number, and passport number.
  • Include the inviting party’s (your) contact details, full name, position, and address.
  • Be signed by the inviting party and, if possible, stamped with the company stamp.

Please note

Please note that the invitation must contain a signature from an authorised person. Otherwise, the invitation will not be approved, and your application will be rejected.
