In recent years, the automotive industry has been severely affected by a shortage of skilled workers - especially mechanics, car painters, sheet metal workers, and car care specialists. Ejner Hessel A/S - one of Denmark's largest car dealerships with around 1,800 employees spread across more than 35 departments - felt the pressure clearly.
This led the company to change its recruitment strategy and they decided to hire 14 new employees from India. This was the starting signal for a collaboration with Visumansøgning.dk, which would secure work permits for the new colleagues.
If one does not have a grasp of the rules and important details in the application process, it can take more than half a year before the employee can start working in Denmark. This can result in lost revenue for the company, skilled employees finding another employer, or them getting into financial difficulties.
Therefore, it was crucial for Ejner Hessel to find an experienced partner who could guide them around unnecessary mistakes and delays.
JESPER BRAHM, HR MANAGER, EJNER HESSEL
"We have hired 14 Indian mechanics and bodywork technicians from India within the last nine months, and we have nothing but praise for Visumansøgning.dk and their assistance to us with the process and we are really happy that we have now found the absolutely right and trustworthy partner."
"If an application for a work permit is rejected, it may mean that the employee in question can start much later than planned. This not only affects our business and revenue. It can have major consequences for the individual employee in India who may be missing an entire month's salary because they quit their job to come to Denmark. We do not want to impose this on our future employees", says Jesper Brahm, HR manager at Ejner Hessel.
"The cost of delegating all the paperwork to Visa Application is quickly recouped when measured against lost revenue, which is the consequence if you have to wait too long for an employee."
Getting an application for work permits approved requires understanding paragraphs, rules, and the requirements set by the authorities (SIRI). It is both complex and time-consuming. At the same time, there are regular changes in the field that one also needs to keep updated on, for example in relation to the pay limit scheme.
That was one of the main reasons why Ejner Hessel chose Visumansøgning.dk, which specializes in work permits and has in-depth knowledge of, among other things, SIRI.
"For me, it is important to have a partner where there is a clear process that makes things run smoothly. It was evident to me that Julie, who was our contact person, had a deep understanding of SIRI's way of working and that she was dedicated to the task. I had an experience of our cases being hand-carried through".
